A Special Kind of Normal: A mother’s journey through autism to destiny, is written for parents, professionals and para-professionals who work with, or advocate for children.
“Normalcy” promises no form of superiority and the state of being “different” is no cause for alarm.
When my son, Jeff, was diagnosed with autism, only 5 children in 10,000 shared the diagnosis. Today, 1 child out of 100 is diagnosed with autism. This disorder affects the entire family unit, but there is hope. Still no known cause and no known cure; however, people know of the disorder now.
My book suggests ways of coping, gifts of insight and purpose for parents who share this path. I believe, “When you walk with purpose, you will collide with your destiny.”
